Birmingham Horror Con 2017 - Halloween Special

Greetings, Ghostwatchers!

Established in 1882, Edgbaston's eminent Cricket Ground, also known as Edgbaston Stadium, shall this year be hosting the Birmingham Horror Con Halloween Special, between 28-29 October, and rather excitingly, Behind the Curtains shall be making an appearance at some point, over the weekend!

Specifically, director, Rich Lawden shall be heading a talk on one of the days (date TBC) to discuss how the documentary project came to be, all that it has achieved, and also take some interesting questions from the audience - though at present, he cannot guarantee an interesting reply. He also expects to be available to sign DVDs and books in exchange for absolutely nothing less than your strictly undivided attention, everlasting admiration, and cold hard cash. And as always, all at special, discount, convention prices!

But seriously, it's a real pleasure to be announcing this, particularly given the doc's proud Birmingham-based roots. A great deal of the initial research for the project took place at Central Library (now relocated), and our final day of principal photography took place less than two miles from the venue, at the city's longstanding Electric Cinema.

Birmingham Horror Con looks set to be a fantastic event indeed, with lots of signings and talks throughout, authors, film & TV guests, and no doubt a plethora of genre-themed traders. There will be stars from Nightmare on Elm Street 2, Poltergeist, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre to meet and greet, among many others. And lurking amongst a number of themed exhibits, we understand there shall even be a painstakingly realised interior model of the USCSS Nostromo from chest-bursting classic, Alien, for all you Xenomorph-fearing space truckers, out there.

This two-day event promises to be "No-stop fun this Halloween". With that in mind, we can't wait to see you there! For more info, and to pick up tickets, do be sure to check out HorrorFan.co.uk

Until then... try not to have sleepless nights.
